Transparency
Merkle is based on the transparency principles prescribed by the Responsible Jewelery Council (RJC) and pays attention to their certification when selecting all suppliers. This goes beyond the rules of the Kimberly Process ratified in the EU.
Suppliers who are RJC certified must follow clear rules in various areas of the company, which are checked by an accredited testing institute. In addition to strict compliance with supervisory and statutory provisions, this includes respect for human and employee rights.
These procedures prohibit blood diamonds from buying or selling diamonds from questionable or unknown sources, as well as diamonds from certain countries and regions.
